Roblox Studio
The free program you build games in.
Viewport
The big 3D view in the middle of Studio. It shows your game world.
Explorer
The panel that lists every object in the game.
Properties
The panel that shows the settings of the object you selected.
Workspace
The place in Explorer that holds everything players can see in the world.
Part
A building block. Platforms, walls and floors are parts.
Anchored
A setting of a part. An anchored part never falls and never moves.
CanCollide
A setting of a part. When it is off, players and objects pass through the part.
Script
A list of instructions that tells the game what to do.
ServerScriptService
The place for scripts that run the game. Players cannot see or change them.
ServerStorage
A storage room. Objects in it wait until a script brings them into the world.
Folder
An object that holds other objects and keeps Explorer tidy.
leaderstats
A special folder name. Values inside it are shown in the player list.
IntValue
An object that holds one whole number, for example cash or health.
ClickDetector
An object that makes a part react to clicks and taps.
ProximityPrompt
An object that shows a button when a player stands close to a part.
BillboardGui
A label that floats above a part and always faces the camera.
Touched
An event. It runs code every time something touches a part.
stud
The unit of length in Roblox. A character is about 5 studs tall.
Output
The window that shows messages and errors from your scripts.
Play and Stop
F5 starts a test of your game inside Studio. Shift+F5 stops it.
Publish
Sending your game to Roblox, so it is saved online and can be opened by others.
game pass
Something a player buys once in a game and keeps forever.
developer product
Something a player can buy in a game again and again.
